The A.I.R. Solo is the world's first Ultraviolet mask that uses specialized LEDs to produce short-wave Ultraviolet light. Designed to be worn under any common face covering, the Solo makes UV-C technology wearable and uses a patent-pending system to expose the mask material and air flow to short-wave LED ultraviolet light.With a one-size-fits-most design, adjustable straps allow the user to create a perfect fit. The elevated structure and open-channel airflow creates an easy breathing experience, and the "no fog" side-venting design will prevent the annoying fogging of glasses.The function of The A.I.R. Solois to aid in sterilization of air being inhaled to and exhaled out of the respirator mask. The irradiation of the light utilizes photons to disinfect inhaled air. UV light damages a pathogen?s DNA or RNA, which prevents it from replicating and infecting the body if inhaled. While the main function of the invention is air sterilization, the secondary function is to sterilize the fabric filter itself. The light is oriented in a way that the filter (cloth face mask, N95, surgical mask, etc.) has a long exposure to the UV light which disinfects and kills biological material trapped in the filter material.
