The Andersen Hitches Weight Distribution Hitch line combines advanced sway and bounce control with a lightweight, innovative design. Featuring a patented tension chain system and friction cone ball housing, these hitches provide unmatched stability for smooth towing. Proudly built in the USA, they are available in 4", 6", and 8" drop designs with 2" or 2-5/16" balls. Designed for ease of use, this line is ideal for families, campers, and anyone seeking safety and reliability on the road.
We offer specialty frame bracket options in 4 3/8" and 7", 8" sizes for our Weight Distribution Hitch. These sizes are less common and only listed on our website with a few more common setups, but they are available for purchase. No-Sway, no-bounce
We didn’t just raise the bar, but we eliminated the need for sway bars entirely. The design of the Andersen Weight Distribution Hitch eliminates the sway and bounce in your trailer, using our interconnected motion-dampening chains and sway-control ball housing system.

To determine which Weight Distribution Hitch kit you need, choose from the following:
• Adjustable Rack Length (4″, 6″ and 8″ Drop)
• Receiver / Shank Size (2″, 2-1/2″ or 3″)
• Ball Size (2″ or 2-5/16”)
• Bracket Size (Available in 3″, 4″, 4-3/8″, 5″, 6″, 7″, & 8″)
We also have special brackets for underslung couplers and low trailer frames.
*Important: Currently the Atwood 88007, 88010, 88555 and 88600 couplers are not compatible with the Andersen Weight Distribution Hitch (all other Atwood couplers are fine.

Andersen Weight Distribution Hitch
I purchased the Andersen WDH (2” shank, 8” drop & 2” ball). I’ve heard a lot of good things about these hitches and it’s even better than I thought it would be. I was previously using the old school WDH that incorporates a heavy hitch, heavy spring bars, and adjustable anti sway attachment…it was a PITA. And HEAVY. The Andersen is much lighter. It’s very easy to install and use. Also, the trailer seems to pull nicer - it feels 1000 lbs lighter! The prices are so low on DownEastOffroad, and the shipping so fast, I couldn’t believe it. I highly recommend the Andersen hitch and the DEO website.
